The community recently came together at the Camana Bay Cinema to commemorate World Mental Health Day with the second-annual World Mental Health Day Symposium, hosted by Infinite Mindcare in partnership with Kelly Holdings. The event focussed on breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and empowering attendees with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.

“This symposium is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the mental health challenges that many face, while also exploring innovative ways to address them,” said Sutton Burke, owner and clinical director of Infinite Mindcare. “By providing access to doable, evidence-based strategies, we aim to empower attendees to foster healthier environments — both at work and in their personal lives.”

The symposium featured a range of expert-led discussions and interactive panels addressing critical mental health topics. The event included sessions on global burnout, insights on having difficult conversations and Raquel Tobian’s exploration of compassion as a key ingredient to a happy life. Other highlights included neurofeedback basics, body image transformation and managing workplace anxiety.

“Prioritising mental health is no longer optional; it’s essential for thriving in today’s demanding world,” Burke said. “Mental health is at the heart of how we function, both individually and as a society.”

The symposium also included engaging panel discussions, including one aimed at offering practical tips and strategies for parents facing challenges, while another titled 'Ask a Therapist' provided attendees an open platform to seek advice from experts.

“I am so incredibly proud and honoured to have partnered with Kelly Holdings for the second year in a row to make this event come to life,” Burke said. “It was a day full of reverence for my staff and the community who showed up to engage and learn on a subject, that while an integral part of who we all are, is still highly stigmatised.”
